The Powering Africa Summit’s overarching theme in 2022 is Capital Flows Underpinning the Energy Transition where we will look to gain an understanding of how climate finance will flow and the vast opportunity that this presents. The OECD estimates that $79.6 Billion of Climate Finance was mobilized in 2019, and as discussed at COP26, the international community must now deliver on a promise to mobilise $100 Billion annually to support growing economies. The Powering Africa Summit will look to address key questions such as: How will capital flows impact an energy transition? Is the existing development architecture in place to successfully mobilise this amount of finance? How will climate financing impact energy developments on the continent?
The Summit began in 2015 to support U.S. Government stakeholders, institutional investors, private financiers, service and technology providers from North America to come together with Ministerial and Governmental
participants from countries across Africa.
